Every once in a while I take a wander around the Internet (it seems to be getting bigger) and see what people are saying about LibriVox. Today I came across something by Arlene Goldbarb, from June 23, in which she says some nice things about LibriVox. She also finishes her post with this bit of soaring optimism (which I practise, often, when I spend time on the LibriVox forums):

When I let myself truly apprehend the extent to which the well of human knowledge has become accessible through the Internet (which includes apprehending what is key to these projects, countless volunteers who type or read the texts as free-will offerings to their fellow humans), I practically swoon. BBC’s Ouch on LibriVox

Ouch is “a website from the BBC. Its aim is to reflect the lives of disabled people right here and now in the third millennium. It’s not a help and support site. If we were to give it a label, it would probably be closest to lifestyle.” In any case, they wrote up a nice little review of LibriVox.
