Sorry – the forum is down – and back up!

Posted on July 5, 2011 by | Posted in about LibriVox, For Volunteers, News, on the web, site & admin | Comments: 8 Comments on Sorry – the forum is down – and back up!

From 08:40 GMT July 5th: Regrettably, it appears that the secure server where the forum lives is currently down again.

We will get it functioning again as soon as possible, and apologise for the inconvenience.

The catalogue server and downloads are unaffected.

EDITED TO ADD: Apologies for the latest outage, which was caused by a problem related to changing DNS providers. It is now back up, and the problem should soon resolve for everyone if it hasn’t done so already.

The “email me when this book is completed” link in the catalog search is giving the following error message:

“Sorry, there was a problem processing your request. (500)”

Bob, the email notification system is currently not operational. Removing those links is on the long list awaiting action. Sorry for the inconvenience!

    Hi! beautiful work!

The new stories have the link to Subscribe in iTunes (Huzzah!!!) but the earlier ones like Secret of Lonesome Cove still lack that link.

Most are still on the RSS feed of new releases. Can they be reloaded? I’m sorry to suggest more work!

However it works out, thanks again!

@Gail We’re sorry about the lack of links to Subscribe to iTunes, and RSS Feeds for some recently catalogued books. This is one of a long list of technical changes that need to be made. We are very anxious to fix all the problems we are experiencing (not least because it is making life pretty difficult for us ;) ) but unfortunately this is going to take a while.

In the meantime, you can use the advanced catalogue search to bring up a list of all books catalogued in any particular month. I hope this will help.
