Ticket No. "9672"

Jules Verne (1828 - 1905)
Translated by Laura E. Kendall ( - fl. 1886)

One of the forgotten novels by adventure science fiction writer, Jules Verne, "Ticket No. 9672" (also known as "The lottery ticket") is less of science and more of fiction, with a touch of romance and a dose of travelling and scenery description.
Hulda and her mother, Dame Hansen, reside in a Norwegian inn, awaiting the return of Hulda's betrothed, but when his ship is lost at sea, all they find is a cryptic message in a bottle, or rather a lottery ticket!
Circumstances and a series of coincidences lead to a resolution, but will it be a happy one? - Summary by Rapunzelina
