Published in 1933 as University of Arizona Social Science Bulletin No. 2, this book is a publication by Hattie Greene Lockett of her thesis for the master’s degree in anthropology. She was a sheep rancher, anthropologist, clubwoman, and writer, and was inducted into the Arizona Women’s Hall of Fame in 1987, 25 years after her death. (Summary by Introduction and Verla Viera)
