George Meason Whicher (1860 - 1937)

George Meason Whicher (29 July 1860 - 2 November 1937) was an American professor of the Classics. Among other positions he was Professor of Classics and Archaelogy and head of the Greek and Latin Department, at Hunter College (New York). He spent one year as the director of the Classical School in Rome and published several books of poetry
