Sarah Elizabeth Harper Monmouth (1829 - 1887)

Sarah E. Monmouth (October 9, 1829 - January 12, 1887) was an American author, poet, lecturer, artist, and lay preacher. Mrs. Monmouth delivered sermons at the Worsted Church in Canterbury, NH. She gave lectures to raise money for charities, homeless families, etc. In 1871 Sarah Elizabeth, using the Church, helped raise funds to assist victims of the Great Chicago fire. Some time after which, she began conducting services at the church. She created artistic works of paper, fiber, and textile that covered the walls of the church.
