Henry Hildreth Piper (1852 - 1942)

Dr. Henry Hildreth Piper (October 28, 1852 - April 8, 1942) was an American dentist and writer. He intended to enter the ministry and attended seminary, but health forced him to abandon his studies. In 1889 he graduated from Boston Dental College and started practice. In 1895 he became instructor in clinical dentistry in Tufts Dental School, and had been professor of dental history and dental ethics since 1918. He was accustomed to spending his summers on the ancestral farm in New Hampshire. He had fine literary gifts, and wrote much in prose and verse.
