Benedictine of Princethorpe Priory

In 1792 Benedictine nuns from Montargis near Orleans fled from France after being persecuted during the French Revolution and landed at Shoreham, near Brighton. Princethorpe (St Mary's) Priory was established by these nuns in 1835.
