J. J. Graham (1808 - 1883)

Colonel J.J. (James John) Graham was the first writer to produce a full translation of Clausewitz's On War. His father and his son were generals, but he himself left active service in the British army in 1842. His major works were the Elementary History of the Progress of the Art of War (1858) and Military Ends and Moral Means (1864).
