Emmy Becher (1854 - 1922)

Emmy Becher (29 January 1854 - 15 September 1922) was a German cultural journalist and literary translator who translated works from French, English, and Italian into German for the Stuttgart-based Engelhorn publishing house. Among the authors she translated were Alphonse Daudet, Guy de Maupassant, Georges Ohnet, Paul Bourget, BM Croker, George Robert Sims, Rudyard Kipling, and Edmondo De Amicis.
