Svend Fleuron (1874 - 1966)

Svend Fleuron (4 January 1874 - 5 April 1966) was a Danish writer. He grew up as the son of a landowner and after leaving school he began a career as an officer. In 1921 he resigned from the military and lived from then on as a writer on his estates. He was a nature writer and especially an animal writer, going far beyond mere descriptions of animals in his texts. He wrote particularly about animals living in the wild, which he was able to portray with great linguistic skill in their drive and instinct-driven nature.
