Paulina Jacoba Cohen de Vries (1884 - 1923)

Paulina Jacoba Cohen de Vries (April 10, 1884 - April 19, 1923) was a Netherlands teacher and author. She obtained her teaching certificate after attending a teacher training college; she was sixteen years old at the time. In July 1905, she started working as a teacher at an Amsterdam school for the poor. She debuted as a children's author in 1920 with "Het Druivejurkje" (The Little Grape Dress). She worked in various genres in children's literature: fairy tales and other short stories, animal stories, girls' books for 12- to 14-year-olds, and poems and verses.
