Charles Webbe ( - c. 1678)

Charles Webbe was an English poet, who was active during the reign of Charles II and possibly during the Interregnum. Virtually nothing is known about his life. Only one of his poems, Against Indifference, survives, but it is believed that he also wrote lyrics for the great English composer Henry Purcell.
