Marcel Dupont (1879 - 1964)
Marcel Dupont is the pseudonym of Marcel Ernest Béchu (April 27, 1879 - July 14, 1964), a French writer and historian. He left for the front on August 29, 1914, and found himself assigned with the rank of captain to a unit of dragoons (the 7th Chasseurs à cheval) in April 1917. In 1920 he joined the Army Historical Service. His work is composed of a few novels and accounts of the 1914-18 war, but he devoted most of it to Napoleon Bonaparte and his generals, as well as to the cavalry.
