W. Max Reid (1839 - 1911)

William Max Reid (June 8, 1839 - November 27, 1911) was an American businessman and historian. He was the founder and first president of the Amsterdam, New York Board of Trade, founder of the local YMCA and the Amsterdam City Hospital. He was also a local historian, publishing books on the history of the area.
