Florence Irwin (1869 - post-1947)
Florence Irwin was a well-known author and teacher of Auction Bridge. Newspaper accounts of the time suggested that her name was a pseudonym for the wife of J. B. Elwell and implicated her involvement in his (still unsolved) murder. This was strongly refuted, however, in later newspaper articles which asserted that she was a single woman using her real name. She was still alive in 1947.
