Elisabeth Charlotte d' Orleans (1652 - 1722)

Elisabeth Charlotte, Princess Palatine (German: Elisabeth Charlotte von der Pfalz) was a German princess and the wife of Philippe I, Duke of Orléans, younger brother of Louis XIV of France. Her vast correspondence provides a detailed account of the personalities and activities at the court of her brother-in-law, Louis XIV. She and her husband, the Duke of Orléans, were the founders of the modern House of Orléans.
