James Buckham (1858 - 1908)

James Buckham, also pen name Paul Pastnor (25 November 1858 - 8 January 1908) was an American journalist and author. He took a course in religious journalism at Andover Theological Seminary, which he finished in 1892, though he decided against going into the ministry because of the failure of his voice. For the next 18 years, he was a journalist for newspaper in Burlington, Vermont as well as in Boston, Massachusetts and in other cities. He then left journalism to become an essayist, a poet, a speculative fiction writer, and a naturalist. He served on the editorial staff of “The Youth’s Companion” for several years and contributed written articles to several periodicals over the years.
