Luis Palés Matos (1898 - 1959)

Luis Palés Matos (March 20, 1898 – February 23, 1959) was a Puerto Rican poet and one of the first poets to write in the Afro-Antillano genre. He also wrote the screenplay for the first Puerto Rican film with sound.
