José Peón y Contreras (1843 - 1907)

José Peón Contreras (January 12, 1843 - February 18, 1907) was a Mexican doctor, playwright, poet and novelist. He graduated early from the Literary University with a bachelor's degree in philosophy, when he was only 12 years old, and since then he taught courses at the Conciliar Seminary of San Ildefonso, in the City of Mérida.
