John Bonner (1828 - 1899)

John Bonner was the editor of Harper’s Weekly from 1858-1863. He was born in Quebec and studied law and medicine in Paris. In 1851 he moved to New York and worked as a journalist and editor. Later he moved to California He was an author and translator of books on history and law.
