Erastus Wolcott Ellsworth (1822 - 1902)

Erastus Wolcott Ellsworth was an American poet and inventor, with a degree in law, but a taste in mechanics. His father, Erastus Ellsworth, was a political figure serving as a Member of the Connecticut state house of representatives. He published his poems in periodicals from 1849 onwards, which he then collected and published in one book in 1855.
