Alfred Edward Chamot (1855 - 1934)

Alfred Edward Chamot was an English author and translator. He was an administrator of the Imperial Palace Gardens at Strelna, Russia in the late 1800s. Their household was part of the Anglo-Russian colony of merchants and entrepreneurs who had settled in St Petersburg by the 1870s. After the outbreak of the Revolution, the family went to England, via Finland and Norway, in 1918.
