Elsa Asenijeff (1867 - 1941)

Elsa Asenijeff war eine frühexpressionistische Schriftstellerin. Sie lebte in Leipzig, führte dort einen Salon und veröffentlichte Märchen, Novellen, Zeitschriftenartikel und Gedichte mit feministischen Inhalt. Sie verkehrte in Künstlerkreisen. Wegen psychischer Probleme entmündigt starb sie in einer nationalsozialistischen „Korrektionsanstalt für asoziale und arbeitsunwillige Erwachsene“. Elsa Asenijeff was an early expressionist writer. She lived in Leipzig, ran a salon there and published fairy tales, novellas, magazine articles and poems with feminist content. She moved in artistic circles. Incapacitated due to psychological problems, she died in a National Socialist “correctional institution for antisocial adults unwilling to work.”
