Ramón Ortega y Frías (1825 - 1883)

Ramón Ortega y Frías (March 1, 1825 - February 16, 1883) was a Spanish writer of serial novels. He wrote more than one hundred and fifty novels in installments, many of them in the genre of the historical novel, of little literary value and with the historical facts amended to suit his purpose. His particular characteristic is to resort to the gruesome and creepy with an inexhaustible and feverish imagination. He also wrote psychological novels and books of travel and adventure in Latin America.
