Lucy Ellen Guernsey (1826 - 1899)

Lucy Ellen Guernsey (August 12, 1826 – November 3, 1899) was an American novelist and social activist. She was a strong proponent of early education, founded a sewing school for poor girls and a home for aging women, and was editor of a religious publication.
