Louis Dodge (1870 - 1952)
Louis Dodge was an American author, editor, compiler; possibly best remembered for his children's books, including the novel Bonnie May (1916) which was adapted into a silent film in 1920.
As a young man, Dodge worked in his father's printing business and, on enlisting in the army to fight in the Spanish-American war, became a war correspondent. Soldiers were given novels by the Red Cross and Dodge decided to try his hand at creative writing, with poetry, short stories and novels.
