Pedro Salinas (1891 - 1951)
Pedro Salinas Serrano (November 27, 1891 – December 4, 1951) was a Spanish writer known above all for his poetry and essays. Within the context of the Generation of '27, he is considered one of its greatest poets. His translations of Proust contributed to the knowledge of the French novelist in the Spanish-speaking world. At the end of the Spanish Civil War, he went into exile in the United States until his death.
