Daniel Coit Gilman (1831 - 1908)

Daniel Coit Gilman was an American educator and academic. He was a founder of the Sheffield Scientific School at Yale, the second president of the University of California, Berkeley, the first president of Johns Hopkins University, and founding president of the Carnegie Institution.
