Belle W. Cooke (1834 - 1918)

Belle Walker Cooke (March 15, 1834 - January 19, 1918) was an Oregon poet and member of the Oregon literary community during the second half of the nineteenth century. Her poetry offers perceptive insight into the experiences of women, and her collection of poems captures her hopes, frustrations, and observations of the nineteenth-century Willamette Valley.
