John Marchborn Cooley (1827 - 1878)

John Marchborn Cooley was an American lawyer, educator, and poet. He studied law and practised his profession for some years until the outbreak of the Civil War, when he joined the Union army. After the war, he became a teacher and headmaster at a classical school and wrote poetry.
