Edward Turner Bennett (1797 - 1836)

Edward Turner Bennett was an English zoologist and writer. He was a doctor as well as a zoologist. He strove to create an entomological society, which evolved into a zoological society associated with the Linnean Society, and eventually became the Zoological Society of London. In 1835 he described a new species of African slender-snouted crocodile, Mecistops leptorhynchus.
