George Villiers (1628 - 1687)

George Villiers, 2nd Duke of Buckingham, 20th Baron de Ros (30 January 1628 – 16 April 1687) was an English statesman and poet. He was brought up in the household of Charles I, whom he supported in the English Civil War. He was in the thick of the politics of the time, but still found time to write poetry, pamphlets, and several plays.
