Lucy Seaman Bainbridge (1842 - 1928)

Lucy Seaman Bainbridge (18 January 1842 - 19 November 1928) was a Civil War nurse, social activist, and author. She was one of the first women to go into the field with the Union Army as nurse, was first president of the Rhode Island WCTU, founded the Woman's Branch of the Brooklyn City Mission Society, and led the Woman's Branch of the New York City Mission Society.
