American Can Company

The American Can Company, incorporated in 1901, was a manufacturer of tin cans. It was a member of the Tin Can Trust, that controlled a "large percentage of business in the United States in tin cans, containers, and packages of tin." In the 1980s it was part of a number of mergers and acquisitions. As of 2000, the business was acquired by a British conglomerate.
