Auguste Génin (1862 - 1931)
Auguste Alexis Manuel Géni (June 19, 1862 - December 3, 1931) was a French industrialist and businessman, writer and Mexicanist. He donated and bequeathed several thousand pre-Colombian pieces to various museums, in particular the Trocadéro Museum and the Cinquantenaire Museum. The Natural History Museum also received biological and mineralogical samples from him. Of Belgian origin through his mother, he was Honorary Consul of Belgium in Mexico City between 1905 and 1920.
