Charles Upham Shepard, Jr. (1842 - 1915)

Charles Upham Shepard, Jr. was an American chemist, who experimented with growing tea in South Carolina. Shepherd owned the Pinehurst Tea Plantation in Summerville, South Carolina, had many years of tea triumphs and won first prize for his oolong tea at the 1904 World’s Fair.
