Byron A. Dunn (1842 - 1926)
Byron Archibald Dunn (August 4, 1842 - November 20, 1926) was an American Union army veteran and educator. After his military service, Dunn received a degree in Law, moved to Missouri, and worked as principal and superintendent of Maryville Public Schools. In 1875 he bought the Maryville Republican and began work as a journalist. After working for various newspapers, he began his career as an author, publishing multiple novels over his time spent in the American Civil War. Some of his books went on to become quite popular, even being translated into different languages.
