Emilie Maceroni (1813 - 1868)

Emilie Maceroni was an Italian-British author and illustrator. She was the daughter of "Count Maceroni," a dashing Italian colonel who had been ADC to the King of Naples. Her widowed mother, she, and her sister ran an aristocratic lodging house in Surrey. George Meredith, novelist Edward Bulwer-Lytton, and the narrative and portrait painter William Frith were among those who lodged there.
