Paul du Chaillu (1831? - 1903)

Paul Belloni Du Chaillu (July 31, 1831 (disputed) – April 29, 1903) was a French-American traveler, zoologist and anthropologist. Credited with being the first European to document the existence of gorillas and pygmies. Drew on his experiences as a traveler to write adventure stories for young people.
