Edward Stirling (1809 - 1894)

Edward Stirling (stage name; originally Edward Lambert) was an English dramatist, adapter, actor, and stage manager. He "adapted" or pirated eight of Dickens' works for the stage. ​He was also a prolific borrower from other writers; among them, Sir Walter Scott and William Harrison Ainsworth.
