Morris Hershman (1926 - 2016)
Morris Hershman (31 January 1926 - August 2016) was an American author of mystery, gothic, and western novels as well as a contributor of over one hundred short stories to periodicals. When Morris was 6 years old, his father kidnapped him and took him to Russia. Shortly after, his father joined WWII and was never seen again. Morris ended up in Russian orphanages and then at the age of 14, he was taken to a Russian prison where he served 14 years after being accused of being an American spy. Hershman wrote under the pseudonyms Evelyn Bond, Arnold English, Sara Roffman, Janet Templeton, Sam Victor, Lionel Webb, and Jess Wilcox.
