Adelia B. Beard (1857 - 1920)

Adelia Belle Beard was an American author and illustrator. With her sister, Mary Caroline "Lina" Beard, she co-founded the first American girls’ scouting group, known originally as the Girl Scout Society, then the Girl Pioneers, and finally as the Camp Fire Girls. Her brother, Daniel Beard, was also an author.
