Virginia Salvi (1510 - 1571)

Virginia Salvi (c. 1510 - post 1571) was an Italian poet from Siena. She fled to Rome in 1555 for political reasons and spent the rest of her life there. Salvi became famous for her poetry in the 1540s and was widely published in anthologies.
