Onoto Watanna (1875 - 1954)

Winnifred Eaton was a Canadian author and screenwriter, the daughter of a Chinese mother and an English father. She published mainly under the pseudonym Onoto Watanna. Although she claimed a birth year of 1879, multiple sources indicate that she was born in 1875.
