John Frost (1784 - 1877)

John Frost was a draper and successful politician in South Wales and became a prominent leader of the 1839 Newport Uprising. He was sentenced to transportation to Tasmania but was pardoned on condition he leave British lands. He went to the United States, where he became a writer and lecturer on Welsh history.
