Kenneth Rand (1891 - 1918)

Kenneth Rand was American poet who, on graduating from Yale, tried to enlist to serve in WWI, but was rejected due to poor eyesight. He was sent to train at quartermaster camp, where he contracted influenza during the great outbreak of 1918, which proved fatal at the age of 27. He was buried with full military honors.
