Robert Sloss (1872 - 1920)

Robert Thompson Sloss (1872 – January 25, 1920) was an American journalist and author. He worked as foreign correspondent for the Chicago Daily News during WWI. In a German utopian anthology published in 1910, Sloss wrote an essay in which he predicted, among other things, online shopping and the mobile phone.
