Laurie Magnus (1872 - 1933)
Laurie Magnus was an English author and publisher. He was born in 1872, the son of Sir Philip Magnus. From 1897-98, he was the Berlin correspondent of the London "Morning Post" He later served as joint managing director of George Routledge & Sons, Ltd. He is the author of numerous books on poetry and literature and history, including "A Primer of Wordsworth" (1897), "An Introduction to Poetry" (1912), "The Third Great War in Relation to Modern History" (1914), "General Sketch of European Literature in the Centuries of Romance" (1918), "Dictionary of European Literature" (1926), and "The Jews in the Christian Era and Their Contribution to its Civilization" (1929).
