John Mastin (1865 - 1932)

John Mastin (15 October 1865 - 9 July 1932) was an English artist and polymath from Sheffield. During the 1890s, Mastin's paintings were seen frequently at exhibitions held by the Sheffield Society of Artists, and he was elected to membership of The (Royal) Society of British Artists. He turned to teaching painting, then later to general education and authorship. He produced books on topography and popular science, and fiction in the form of scientific romances. Around 1916 he was Proprietor and Principal of Kenyon Hall College in Lancashire.
